Our Journey:

Conceived of in February 2023, MusikfürMusik is a collective of professional artists united by a shared passion for classical music and opera. Our mission is to develop, prepare, and perform music that not only inspires us but also resonates deeply with audiences. We believe in the power of a nurturing and collaborative environment, where top-tier artists from all backgrounds have the freedom to create innovated performances.

What makes our performances special?

Flexible & site-specific – We adapt to different spaces, transforming each venue into a unique theatrical experience.

Raw, authentic storytelling – stripping large scale staged opera down to its essence: music, drama, and human connection.

Opera for all – We present opera to everyone, offering it in accessible, affordable and engaging ways that welcome both newcomers and seasoned audiences alike, without compromising artistic integrity. We also bring our shows to different places, reaching communities which may not live in major cultural hubs.

Artist-led & empowering – We give artists the freedom to mount their own projects, fostering creativity and innovation in opera.

Audience engagement - We are passionate about preserving the timeless artform of opera while also ensuring its evolution and relevance in today’s world. Through our planned community outreach projects, we want to bring opera to public spaces and ask people what they think of opera and how we can make it more accessible and engaging for them.

The supportive, open and independent collective that is MusikfürMusik works with established artists as well as exceptional but also marginalized artists. We want to create new things that represent all people in our modern society and to present opera in ways that the performances are relevant and engaging theatrical expereinces that everyone can enjoy.
