Daniel Seroussi, Pianist
“A revelation at the piano” titled the Argentine daily newspaper „Clarin“s it´s review of Daniel Seroussi’s South American debut in May 2009, as soloist in Grieg’s Piano Concerto, accompanied by the Moscow Symphony Orchestra in Ushuaia, Tierra del Fuego.
Concert tours followed to North and Central America, China, Israel, amongst other countries. Daniel performed in major European concert halls, and participated in various music festivals, including the Lake Constance Festival, Santander Festival, Spain and the Singapore Violin Festival, Singapore.
The Israeli pianist, residing in Berlin, enjoys bringing the audience musical discoveries and rediscoveries of all periods along the standard repertoire. Thanks to his passion for contemporary music, Daniel maintains a close musical connection with the most exciting composers of his generation and has dedicated many piano recitals to music of the 20th and 21st century.
As a soloist, he made his debut at the age of twenty with the Israeli Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Maestro Mandy Rodan, and has performed with the Folkwang Orchestra Aachen, the Echo Ensemble Berlin, and with the orchestra of the Summer Academy in San José, Costa Rica.
Daniel is a prizewinner of several piano competitions, including the Prix Amadéo Aachen Piano Competition 2010, the Katz Piano Competition Tel-Aviv 2006, and the Duo Competition “Franz Schubert and moedern music” 2009, together with violinist Stefan Hempel. In May 2008 Daniel won a special prize from the DAAD for an outstanding achievement by a foreign student at the Hochschule für Musik “Hanns Eisler” Berlin.
Born into a musical family in Tel Aviv, Israel, Daniel received his first piano lessons from Mrs. Neta Yahel. He studied later with Emanuel Krasovsky in Tel-Aviv and with Michael Endres, Georg Sava and Henri Sigfridsson in Berlin. Further defining impulses came from Dimitri Bashkirov, Paul Badura-Skoda, Martino Tirimo and Eberhard Feltz.
Besides his concert activities, Daniel enjoys the contact with young, aspiring musicians as a collaboartive pianist at the Hochschule für Musik “Hanns Eisler” Berlin and at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater, Rostock.
His recording of the piano composition “Through the Keyboard” by his father, the composer Ruben Seroussi,was released in 2017 by the label NEOS . The first CD “Myths and Melodies” by the duo Stefan Hempel (violin) and Daniel Seroussi will be released in February 2023 by the label Audite .
