Irish mezzo-soprano Jennifer Hughes studied at the DIT Conservatory of Music and Drama, Dublin. She was a member of the distinguished Glyndebourne chorus between 2011 and 2017, most recently in the world première of Brett Dean’s Hamlet (chorus), and in David McVicar’s production of Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg (Lehrbube). Other engagements include international tours with the Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival, and Madama Butterfly (chorus and cover Aunt) at the Royal Albert Hall. She was a member of the vocal ensemble in the world première of Heart Chamber (Chaya Czernowin) at the Deutsche Oper Berlin, and has guested in the Chor der Deutschen Oper.
